We accept cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats, trailers, RVs, and most other vehicles and vessels.

2. Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. AIDS Research Alliance is registered with the IRS as a non-profit charitable organization – a 501(c) 3, Tax ID #95-4264845. Individual tax situations vary, so please check with a tax professional to determine what benefits you may receive.

3. My car hasn’t run in years. Can I still donate it?
Yes. We can accept most vehicles, running or not. (Exceptions include older vehicles whose value would not offset the cost of towing.) To find out if we can accept your vehicle, contact us through our online donation form.

4. What paperwork do I need to give you?
We usually need the title to the vehicle, but if you don’t have it, call us anyway. It is possible that other arrangements can be made.

5. Does it matter what part of the country my car is in?
We can pick up eligible vehicles in all 50 states, including Alaska and Hawaii.

6. How do you determine the value of my car?
Actually, the IRS allows you, the donor, to assess the fair market value of your vehicle. You may use the free Kelly Blue Book and the NADA Guides to help you determine its fair market value. We suggest you review pages 10-11 of IRS Publication 526 for federal guidelines on how to determine the value of your donated property. Also be aware that each state has different rules governing car deductions. Consult your state tax office for details.

7. How will the car be picked up?
We will arrange to have a professionally licensed, bonded, and insured towing company pick up your vehicle.

8. How long does the process take?
We will contact you within three or four business days. If you need your car picked up sooner, please let us know and we’ll see what arrangements can be made.

9. How do I schedule a pick up?
