On
July 10, 2003, the alternative rock band Concrete Blonde
headlined a benefit concert for AIDS Research Alliance (ARA)
at the Hotel Café in Hollywood. It was an extraordinary
event that increased awareness about the on-going AIDS crisis
and raised over $2,000 in donations for ARA!
The Hotel Caf was standing room only and was packed with
ARA supporters and Concrete Blonde fans. Opening for Concrete
Blonde were Rebekah Florence, Luther Russell
and Tim Scanlin. The event was generously organized
by Monica Herms of Lady Mo Shows and supported
by Amoeba Music. Many thanks to the all of the contributors
who made this event possible (Complete coverage of this eventincluding
photoswill be printed in our next edition of Spotlight
and posted shortly on this page).
