AIDS Research Alliance currently seeks volunteers for the following clinical trials:


Egrifta® Diabetic Retinopathy Study

Are you HIV positive and

Do you have Type II Diabetes and

Do you have excess abdominal fat?

You may be eligible to participate in a research study of EGRIFTA® conducted by ARA. This study is investigating the effects of EGRIFTA® compared to placebo on the progression of diabetic retinopathy. Study subjects will not be charged for taking part in the investigation, or charged for study drugs or study-related medical procedures.  If you volunteer to participate in the study, you will be required to make 16 visits over a 3 year period.  You will be compensated for your time and travel up to $750.  For more information, please call our clinic for prescreening at (310) 358-2429 or email studyinfo@aidsresearch.org

 


 

TAMIFLU® Study

Do you know someone who has the Flu? Do you think you’re next? Are you HIV positive and experiencing flu-like symptoms such as malaise, fatigue, chills, or fever?

Call ARA’s clinic to see if you qualify for a study of TAMIFLU® which includes a free influenza diagnostic test, study-related medical care, and study medications.

Hepatitis B Blood Specimen Collection Study

Have You:

Recently been infected with Hepatitis B?

Been living with Hepatitis B for more than 6 months?

AIDS Research Alliance is looking for volunteers with acute or chronic Hepatitis B to participate in a blood collection study.

Eligible volunteers who provide between 5 and 8 tubes of blood will be compensated $50 for participation.

HIV, HTLV, and Hepatitis Specimen Collection Study

ARA is looking for volunteers to participate in a blood collection study. Eligible volunteers must have antibodies to any of the following infectious disease markers:

HIV 1 or 2, Syphilis, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HTLV 1 or 2 or Chagas Disease

Eligible volunteers who give between 5 and 8 tubes of blood will be compensated $50 for participation.

Entera® Health Enteropathy Study

Are you:

HIV-positive?

On antiretroviral therapy?

Struggling with HIV-Associated Diarrhea?

AIDS Research Alliance is conducting a study to determine the effectiveness of an oral nutrition therapy to support nutrient absorption in subjects with HIV-associated enteropathy (diarrhea). Participants will receive either placebo or 2.5g and 5g of serum-derived bovine immunoglobulin protein isolate at no cost to them.

Assessments will include participant-reported responses to daily questions regarding gastrointestinal symptoms, health surveys, nutrient absorption, and body measurements. Volunteers that enroll will be in the study for approximately 25 weeks and will be compensated for their time and participation.
