AIDS Research Alliance conducts research to find new therapeutic drugs, an effective HIV vaccine, and a cure for AIDS. Our research is funded almost entirely by private gifts from a concerned public.

AIDS Research Alliance helped to develop about half of existing anti-HIV drugs. Over 20 years, we have conducted 120 groundbreaking studies, ranging from the development of protease inhibitors to every major HIV vaccine trial.

AIDS Research Alliance is committed to find a cure for AIDS. Currently, we are developing a new drug that targets latent HIV—the virus not killed by existing anti-HIV therapies. This could be the linchpin in a comprehensive cure strategy.

AIDS Research Alliance is unique among HIV organizations. As an independent non-profit, we work without regard to profit or politics. This allows AIDS Research Alliance to conduct research simultaneously with major universities, pharmaceutical companies, and the National Institutes of Health, among others.
